?How much does the regular class cost???
$10.
???Help!! I lost my certificate. Or my dog ate it or.....
I took the class many years ago from xxx at yyyyy.
Now I have the "the hunt of a lifetime" scheduled for Next Month.
Can you just issue me a new CERTIFICATE? Please?
NO.
(That is a negative. We will not do that.)
Here are your options:
a) Contact DFG and see if they have records of your class.
They may have records and they may be able to re-issue a certificate.
b) Find some other instructor who is able to meet your rush schedule.
c) Retake the entire regular class.
d) If you are a member of WCGC, then you might want to take
the ONLINE class. HOWEVER, if you are in a "big hurry,"
then we probably won't be able to meet your scheduling needs.
**** Plan Ahead. ****
Take care of your certificate.
We only replace certificates for folks who took the class from us.
?Is there any way to reserve a seat in the class ahead of time?
YES!
As a special courtesy to members of WCGC,
a limited number of seats in each class, will be available to be reserved.
Here is what you need to do:
1) Join WCGC - If you are already a member, then:
2) Send an Email to Phil Kryder.
3) Include in the email:
a) Your Name
b) Your WCGC membership number.
c) Your Telephone Number
d) Your Address.
We will verify your membership and respond to your email
and provide you with instructions on
how to send us your NON-REFUNDABLE $10 class fee to reserve your seat.
Seats will be reserved on a First paid, First reserved basis.
?What if I'm not a member of WCGC?
Then this would be a great time to join and
support the shooting community in Santa Barbara County.
WCGC offers several types of memberships,
including $10 per year youth memberships for those under the age of 18.
?What happens if I don't reserve a seat?
The number of class seats is severely limited.
We currently plan to allow only 20 students per class.
We will select among the students who arrive on the first night of the class
to fill the remaining non-reserved seats.

?Is there anything we need to do ahead of time to prepare for the class?
No.
Prior preparation is NOT necessary.
However, if you wish, you can review one of the online study classes.
?What if I can't make it to ALL of the class sessions?
Then, you will fail the class.
You will not be allowed to take the test.
You will not pass the class or get the certificate.
You must attend all 10 hours of the class AND
you must pass the written test with a score of 80 or higher.
You must demonstrate ethical awareness,
and safety at all times and
competency in the field test and
the live fire shooting and ammo identification.
If you can't make it to every class session,
don't waste a seat that someone else could use.
If you can't make it to every class session,
you may want to consider one of the online class options (see links below).
If you can't make it to every class session,
you may wish to check with the California Department of Fish and Game.
There are many other instructors who offer many classes.
?What if I only score 79 on the test. Is there some way I can just retake the test?
No.
You must retake the entire class.
And, You must score 80 or higher when you retake the class.
?Oh, come on, that seems really strict - there must be some other way - what can I do??
Yes, it is strict.
Hunting is a serious activity.
But, there are many opportunities listed up above, and remember,
you only need to pass the test once to enjoy a lifetime of hunting privileges.
You may be better served by taking the online class.
Whatever you do, here is a tip:
